I really wanted the photoblog thing to work. I really did.

But given the lack of traffic here (on my part as much as my sporadic visitors), I'm shutting down the Somewhat Daily Photoblog, and merging it with Somewhat Daily Words. I'll post pictures there as often as possible, hopefully making my original blog bigger and better.

And with that, I bid you adieu.

Just A Quick Note...

Sorry about the sporadic nature of the sizes of my pictures here. Until this past week I'd been using Hello by Picasa, an instant messenger styled program that posts pictures automatically to my blog with just a click of a button. But, since I've been taking much larger pictures lately, Hello has been squishing them or destroying the details in them.

So, in an effort to better the quality of the pictures I've been direct-linking them to my album on Photobucket. Sometimes I have to resize them, and I don't have that down to a fine science yet (hence the extremely small picture of all of our packed boxes....) - so bear with me.

And, just so I don't go without posting a picture in a post, here's one that I shot in the dark, off of my tripod, and then cropped really tight on my camera. I like the grain in it. I've dubbed it The Mug Shot

Did I mention Michelle bought me a killer sword for Father's Day? It's a Braveheart replica, and it may look forboding, but it's not sharpened. Given my natural gift for clumsiness, that's a good thing. But it's an awesome gift, ain't it?

This little guy crawled onto our porch last Friday night. unfortunately, it was too dark to get really close in with my macro, but it still came out kinda cool. He got all freaked out by the flash, so after I took a few pictures he was all stretched out. But this one is the best, I think. Notice how the chip in the paint above him sorta looks like a frog? Weird, huh?

I've been playing with the macro setings on my camera, and I took a picture of the very keyboard that I'm writing this with. Forgive the mess, I need to buy some canned air or lug the vaccuum upstairs. But man, that's pretty cool, isn't it?
